When Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal approached 7NIRVANA to design their first home after marriage, the brief was unlike most luxury residences.
The challenge was not creating a beautiful home.
The challenge was creating a home that authentically reflected two very different personalities while still feeling like one cohesive space.
Named SA’ADA, meaning happiness, contentment, and a sense of belonging, the residence became an exploration of identity-driven design – a philosophy that has guided our work at 7NIRVANA for over 25 years.
Rather than beginning with a predefined style, we began by understanding the people who would live there.
The result is a luxury residence where two distinct worlds coexist effortlessly, creating a home that feels deeply personal, timeless, and authentic.
A home should not reflect a designer’s style. It should reflect the people who live within it.
Every project begins with understanding personalities, lifestyles, routines, aspirations, and emotional connections to space. This approach allows each residence to become a unique expression of its owners rather than a repetition of design trends.
SA’ADA became one of the clearest examples of this philosophy.
Most residential projects involve finding a shared design language.
This project required us to celebrate contrast.
During the design process, it became evident that Sonakshi and Zaheer envisioned very different environments for themselves.
Neither brief was right or wrong.
They were simply different.
The success of the project depended on preserving both identities while creating a home that felt unified.
This became the foundation of the design narrative.
Zaheer’s brief was expressive, contemporary, and unapologetically individual.
His spaces embrace strong architectural forms, material honesty, and bold visual statements.
The design language incorporates:
•Exposed concrete surfaces
•White textured brick walls
•Black architectural detailing
•Strong geometric compositions
•Deep accent colours
•Open visual connectivity
•Minimal yet impactful detailing
The spaces feel confident and artistic, allowing architecture and materials to take centre stage.
Rather than relying on ornamentation, the design derives its character from texture, proportion, and contrast.
This side of the residence reflects a distinctly contemporary and avant-garde approach to luxury residential design.
In contrast, Sonakshi’s brief focused on comfort, softness, and restoration.
Her spaces were designed to feel like a retreat from the demands of public life.
The design vocabulary evolved through:
•Soft arches and curves
•Natural stone surfaces
•Rattan detailing
•Warm neutral palettes
•Layered textures
•Beach-house inspired elements
•Organic spatial transitions
Natural light, material warmth, and visual softness define these spaces.
The result is a serene environment that feels timeless, relaxed, and deeply connected to nature.
The most important aspect of SA’ADA was not creating two separate worlds.
It was creating one home.
Rather than dividing the residence, we carefully designed transitions where both design languages could coexist.
Shared spaces became points of connection.
Material palettes were selected to create continuity.
Architectural proportions remained consistent.
Natural light became a unifying element throughout the residence.
This approach allowed each personality to maintain its individuality while contributing to a larger architectural narrative.
The home never feels fragmented.
It feels balanced.
Open Plan Living
The residence embraces an open-plan layout that enhances interaction while preserving privacy where required.
Living, dining, entertainment, and outdoor spaces remain visually connected, creating a seamless flow throughout the home.
Indoor-Outdoor Integration
Expansive glazing systems connect the interiors directly with panoramic sea views, blurring the boundaries between architecture and landscape.
Spatial Zoning
Careful planning allows public and private areas to coexist comfortably without disrupting the openness of the residence.
Architectural Lighting
Lighting is integrated into the architecture to enhance mood, highlight materials, and create depth throughout the home.
Custom Interior Architecture
Every element, from wardrobes to furniture details, was designed specifically for the residence, ensuring consistency and functionality.
Material authenticity was central to the design approach.
Rather than introducing decorative finishes, the project celebrates materials in their natural form.
Key materials include:
Exposed Concrete
Adding depth, texture, and contemporary character.
White Brick
Introducing warmth and visual softness while maintaining architectural clarity.
Natural Stone
Creating continuity between interior and exterior spaces.
Timber
Balancing harder materials with warmth and tactility.
Rattan
Bringing texture, craftsmanship, and a relaxed coastal character.
Together, these materials create an environment that feels sophisticated without being excessive.
One of the most important lessons from SA’ADA is that successful luxury homes are not created by following trends.
Trends change.
Personality endures.
At 7NIRVANA, our approach focuses on understanding how people live, move, entertain, relax, and connect with their environment.
The architecture then evolves from those insights.
This process creates homes that remain relevant long after design trends have faded.
SA’ADA is not defined by a particular style.
It is defined by the people who live there.
The private areas of the residence further reinforce the individuality of both homeowners.
One suite embraces bold colours, strong geometries, and dramatic visual moments.
The other focuses on softness, natural materials, and restorative experiences.
Each space responds directly to its occupant’s lifestyle while remaining part of a larger design language.
This balance between individuality and cohesion is what makes the residence unique.
While SA’ADA is the first home of Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal after marriage, its significance extends beyond celebrity.
The project represents a broader idea about residential design.
The most successful homes are not those that look the most expensive.
They are the homes that feel the most personal.
By embracing contrast rather than avoiding it, SA’ADA demonstrates how architecture can accommodate different identities while creating a shared sense of belonging.
It is a home designed around people rather than aesthetics.
A home built around individuality rather than trends.
A home where two worlds meet effortlessly.
A home where essence becomes home.
