Introduction:
After 15 years in New York, Shivani and Vineet sought to recreate the spirit of the city she called home in her new Mumbai apartment. This 5000 sqft space in Bandra provided the perfect canvas to blend the urban energy of New York with the warmth of Mumbai. With a refined palette of white, walnut wood, black, and accents of blue, we infused every room with timeless charm and sophistication. The result is a home that reflects her memories and personality while embracing the modern luxury of Mumbai living.
The Living Room: Urban Chic Meets Panoramic Views
At 1500 sqft, the living room is an architectural masterpiece that embodies both grandeur and intimacy. The expansive floor-to-ceiling windows open up to sweeping views of the Sea Link, creating a powerful connection between the interior and the stunning Mumbai skyline. This abundance of natural light allows the design to flow effortlessly, where functionality meets design in perfect harmony.
Art as Narrative: The art wall, featuring nine pieces by students of JJ School of Arts, is not merely decor—it’s a visual autobiography. These works, painted in shades of black, white, and vibrant yellow, evoke memories of New York, paying tribute to the iconic yellow cabs that define the city’s spirit. Art and memories converge in a unique conversation on this wall.
Functional Luxury: In this open expanse, we balanced the need for functional luxury by incorporating a sprawling library, an elegant bar, and curated spaces from Shivani’s art collection. The library extends seamlessly along the wall, flowing into the hallway, guiding the eye to the blue-accented den—another nod to New York’s distinctive style.
Seamless Flow and Seating: The L-shaped sofa, strategically placed in the center, invites conversation and promotes an effortless flow throughout the room. This central gathering space creates a sense of intimacy within the vastness, while the seating configuration encourages connection and relaxation.
Walnut Wood Elegance: A subtle, yet constant, element throughout the space, walnut wood is used to define doors, partitions, and cabinetry. Its rich, warm tones add timeless sophistication and a sense of permanence to the room.
The living room, with its incredible views and urban New York flair, sets the tone for a space that is at once luxurious and welcoming—perfectly capturing the essence of both cities.
The Blue Den: A Cozy Sanctuary
Nestled within the villa, the Blue Den serves as a quiet retreat—a space where comfort, nostalgia, and style coalesce. The soothing blue tones envelop the room, creating an inviting ambiance that offers both relaxation and tranquillity.

The Jai’s Room: Industrial Warmth Meets Personal Expression
This teenager’s retreat is the perfect fusion of industrial edge and warmth. The white brick walls set a clean, modern tone, while black metal accents and rich wood tones create a grounded, inviting atmosphere. The space is elevated with pieces from the cherished NY Collection, including a crib and study table that not only serve as functional elements but also offer a sense of continuity and nostalgia.
A standout feature is the black metal library, which adds vintage charm while neatly housing books, toys, and personal treasures. The Star Wars wall art brings in a playful touch, showcasing beloved characters that make the room truly his own.
This room is a harmonious blend of functionality and personal expression, designed to evolve with its occupant while remaining a stylish, versatile sanctuary.
The Guest Room / Multipurpose Room: Adaptive Style and Function
A true testament to multifunctional design, this Guest Room / Multipurpose Room serves as a dynamic space that adapts to various needs—study, exercise, or guest accommodation—all without compromising on style.
The sofa cum bed from Ashley Furniture offers ultimate flexibility, transforming the room into a cozy guest space while maintaining a chic, comfortable aesthetic.
A colourful Obeetee rug adds texture and vibrancy to the space, grounding the design and injecting warmth.
A corner chandelier elevates the room’s charm, adding a touch of sparkle and sophistication to this versatile area.
This room encapsulates practicality and flair, offering a welcoming retreat for guests while doubling as a multifunctional space for the residents. It’s the epitome of adaptive design, where style and function go hand in hand.

The Master Room was envisioned as a self-sufficient sanctuary—a space that blends luxury with practicality, where every element works in perfect harmony. The integration of the King bed, walk-in wardrobe, and master bath creates a seamless experience of comfort and indulgence.
